Janice Butler, CPA

Janice M. Butler

Janice has approximately 20 years of experience in the accounting profession. Starting in public accounting at the "Big" accounting firms, she has been responsible for planning, supervising, and reviewing various audit engagements. Janice then went to a local New York City accounting firm where she performed audit and taxation services to a variety of clients.

After seven years in public accounting, Janice transitioned to corporate accounting at a Fortune 300 Company starting as an Analyst and then Accounting Manager. Janice then became a Controller directing the accounting principles, practices, and procedures.

While working in corporate accounting, Janice started teaching as an adjunct at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. Janice teaches the courses Federal Income Taxation and Government and Not-For-Profit Accounting. Janice continued teaching by completing a two-year special appointment as an Associate Professor of Accounting at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT. It was her goal to work in the accounting industry prior to teaching to be able to share experiences with students.

Janice also uses her experience to assist individuals and businesses with their accounting and taxation needs. Janice holds a BS in accounting and biology from Albertus Magnus College, a MBA from Quinnipiac University, and post-graduate certificate in taxation from the University of Hartford. In addition to being a certified public accountant, Janice is a certified internal auditor.
