Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We've compiled some common questions about our business and services.  If you don't see your question or answer here, please call 203.893.1164 or use the contact form to send us your question.

How much do you charge for a tax return?

A flat fee is charged for preparation of tax returns. Fees vary based on types of income such as rental, self-employment, and multi-state. The organization and completeness of records can also impact price. We like to review the last return filed to give a comprehensive quote. Feel free to call for further information.

What should I bring to an appointment?

A copy of the last tax return you filed with the IRS and any tax documents you have received for the year(s) to be filed.  Any letters received from the IRS should be brought to the appointment.

Is my information kept confidential?

The Code of Professional Conduct for certified public accountants requires that any confidential client information shall not be disclosed without the specific consent of the client.  We require this consent to be in writing.  CPAs and clients do not have privilege like attorneys.  The exception to the consent requirement is complying with a valid subpoena, summons, or applicable statues and government regulations.

How do I get my information to you?

Documents can be brought to the office or provided through a data collection portal.  A link to the portal would be sent to your e-mail address.  Please contact the office to make arrangements.  E-mailing and texting documents is not a secure form of transmission.
